Glory Gathering Widows Dinner: Community, Comfort, and the Gospel

At Be The Glory Project, our mission has always been bigger than events. It’s bigger than numbers. It’s about people. It’s about healing. It’s about creating spaces where the overlooked and broken feel seen, loved, and reminded that God has not forgotten them.

That’s exactly why we hosted the Glory Gathering Widows Dinner.

The Heart Behind the Dinner

The purpose of the Widows Dinner was simple but powerful: to create community.

Widowhood can be isolating. Grief can feel like a lonely road, especially when the world keeps moving while your heart is still processing what it lost. We wanted to create a safe space where widows could come together, be surrounded by love, and experience encouragement through conversation, connection, and the presence of God.

While we didn’t have the full number of widows we hoped would attend, something beautiful still happened: we built genuine community with the women who did show up.

And that mattered.

Sometimes God reminds us that impact isn’t always measured by how full the room is — but by how full the hearts are when people leave.

Building With the Women Who Came

That evening, we laughed, we talked, we listened, and we created moments that mattered. We were able to connect personally, learn stories, and build a foundation for what we believe will grow into something long-lasting.

This wasn’t just a dinner. It was a beginning.

It was a reminder that even if only a few show up, God can still do something powerful with the ones He sends.

What Happened After the Dinner Was Over

One of the most unexpected blessings of the night came after the Widows Dinner ended.

We had extra food remaining, and instead of letting it go to waste, we did what we believe the Gospel calls us to do: we went out into the community.

That night, we took the remaining food to those experiencing homelessness, and we spent hours outside sharing meals, praying, and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We evangelized and served until after 2 AM.

It was a powerful reminder that when we say we are Christ-centered, we mean it. The mission doesn’t stop when the event ends. Ministry continues wherever there are people who need hope.

The Future of Glory Gathering

The Glory Gathering is not a one-time dinner. It is a growing community initiative that we plan to expand into multiple events throughout the year in both Alabama and Atlanta.

Our goal is to continue creating safe, God-centered spaces for widows and others in need of community, support, and encouragement.

We believe this is just the beginning of something God is building.

Next Up: Prayer and Paint

We are excited to share that our next Glory Gathering event will be a Prayer and Paint Night — a relaxed, uplifting evening where women can come together, connect, express themselves creatively, and be encouraged through prayer and fellowship.

More details will be announced soon, but we’re already looking forward to another opportunity to build community and bring glory to God through love, service, and connection.

Thank You

To everyone who supported the Glory Gathering Widows Dinner through prayer, volunteering, giving, or simply sharing the event — thank you. Your support helped make a difference, and we are grateful for every person who helped us pour into others.

We’re excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to continue building with you.

This is only the beginning.

With love,Be The Glory Project Team
